Premium
What does Premium include in Old Light?
Premium doubles your structure and shipyard queues from three slots to six, replaces a lost fleet from its battle report in one click, unlocks every fleet preset and the full set of banner shapes, emblems and rims, and adds an optional supporter badge.
Premium is an optional upgrade that buys convenience and cosmetics. It runs on Starlight, a balance you buy in packs or earn when players you invite buy some of their own.
What Premium includes
Bigger queues. Six structure slots and six Shipyard slots instead of three, so you can line up more work before you close the tab.
Replace losses in one click. Rebuild a lost fleet straight from its battle report instead of re-entering the order.
More fleet presets. Every saved preset is usable, not only the first three.
More banner options. Extra shapes, patterns and emblems, gold and bronze rims, and the full ink palette.
A supporter badge beside your empire name, which you can switch off in Settings.
What Premium does not include
Premium cannot make an empire stronger. It gives no resources and no better ships, and it cannot shorten a build or widen your borders. A player who has never spent anything is held to exactly the rules you are.
Starlight
Starlight is the balance Premium is bought with.
100 Starlight is one month. That is the only conversion in the game.
Packs hold 100, 300 or 1200 Starlight. The largest pack works out cheapest per month. Prices are shown in the Premium menu, and on the Premium page on the website.
Nothing renews. You are never charged again unless you buy another pack.
Starlight does not expire. Spending it while Premium is already running extends the date you hold rather than overwriting it.
Buying needs a verified email address, which is also how you recover your empire if you get signed out. See Account.
Earning Starlight from invites
Every account has an invite link, in the Premium menu. When someone who started from your link buys Starlight, you earn half of what they bought, on every purchase they make. There is no limit on how many people you invite.
When Premium ends
Premium runs out on the date you paid through, and nothing you built is taken away.
Queues drop back to three slots the next time you queue something. Work already running finishes.
A banner crest you already saved stays on your empire, premium pieces included.
The supporter badge disappears.
The economics of the future are somewhat different. You see, money doesn't exist in the 24th century.
Common questions
Does Premium make my empire stronger?
No. It gives no resources and no better ships, and it cannot shorten a build or widen your borders. A player who has never spent anything is held to exactly the rules you are, anywhere on the map.
How much Starlight is a month of Premium?
100 Starlight buys one month, and that is the only conversion in the game. Starlight is sold in packs of 100, 300 and 1200. Every pack is a one-off purchase, so nothing renews and you are never charged again unless you buy another.
How do I earn Starlight without buying it?
Every account has an invite link in the Premium menu. When someone who started from your link buys Starlight, you earn half of what they bought, on every purchase they make. There is no limit on how many people you invite.
What happens when Premium ends?
Nothing you built is taken away. Queues drop back to three slots the next time you queue something, while work already running finishes. A banner crest you saved stays on your empire, and the supporter badge disappears.
