Old Light's galaxy now has its own pages: live stats and sector pages

Part of the Old Light galaxy map, with neighbouring empires' territory drawn in their banner colours across the hex grid

Old Light has a set of public pages about the galaxy itself now, next to the empire profile pages. The galaxy overview is the place to start, and it links to the rest. Nobody needs an account to read any of it.

The galaxy overview#

The overview opens with the live numbers, starting with how many players were active in the last 24 hours. Below that sit the last seven days of activity, the top five empires, the sectors that saw the most fighting this week and the galaxy's records. Each block links through to its full page.

Galaxy stats#

The galaxy stats page has the full numbers. Pick a period from the last 24 hours up to all time, and the page shows what happened in it, grouped into war, expansion, trade and diplomacy, and industry. Each number has a bar chart beside it, with one bar per hour for the last 24 hours and one per day or week for the longer periods. Point at a bar, or tap it on a phone, to see the numbers for that stretch of time.

Further down are the hottest sectors for the period, ranked by attacks and then captures. They only count full days, so the list moves once a day and never shows a fight that is still going on. For the same reason the list is left out of the 24-hour view.

At the bottom are the galaxy's records. One is the star held longest by the same empire, another the star captured most often. The biggest empire record counts from the day these pages went up.

Sector pages#

Every sector that has held a star now has its own page. It shows who controls the sector and how much of it they cover, the sector bonus that comes with control, the empires holding stars there ranked by how many, and how many stars were captured there in the last 30 days.

The map on a sector page looks like the one you see in the game: just the sector inside its border, with each empire's territory in its colour and the unclaimed stars as small dots. Every sector page also links to the sectors that border it.

Wherever a sector name appears on these pages or on an empire's profile, it links to the sector's page.

The leaderboard and the galaxy map moved#

The leaderboard and the galaxy map now live under the galaxy they belong to, and so do the empire profile pages. Old links keep working and take you to the new address. The galaxy map also lists the sectors held most firmly, with links to their pages.

If your profile is hidden#

If you switched on "Hide my public profile" in Settings, your empire still shows up on these pages by name, the same as on the leaderboard and the map, but without a link to a profile.
