Premium

Old Light is free to play. Premium is an optional purchase that covers the cost of running the galaxy, and what it buys is convenience and decoration. Nothing in it makes an empire stronger.

What Premium includes

• Bigger queues. Six structure slots and six shipyard slots instead of three, so more work is lined up while you are away.
• Replace losses in one click. Rebuild a lost fleet straight from its battle report.
• More fleet presets. Every saved preset is usable, not only the first three.
• More banner options. Extra shapes, patterns and emblems, gold and bronze rims, and the full ink palette.
• A supporter badge beside your empire name, which you can switch off.

What Premium does not include

Premium cannot make an empire stronger, and that will not change as the game grows. There is no resource pack in it, no better ship, and no way to make a build finish sooner. Every empire on the map runs on the same rules, paid or not.

What Premium costs

Premium is bought with Starlight rather than by subscription. 100 Starlight buys one month, and Starlight is sold in three packs.

Every pack is a one-off purchase, so nothing renews and you are never charged again unless you buy another. Starlight does not expire, so a pack can sit in your balance until you want the time, and spending it while Premium is already running extends the date you hold.

Earning Starlight instead of buying it

Every account has an invite link, under Premium in the game menu. When someone who started from your link buys Starlight, you earn half of what they bought, on every purchase they make. There is no limit on how many people you invite.

How to buy

Open the menu in game and choose Premium. Buying needs a verified email address, which is also how you recover your empire if you get signed out. If you have not founded an empire yet, start one first.
